Happy Feet

Well, I hope they will be happy soon!

A couple of weeks ago we had the Pasadena Tri Club meeting at a place called The Physical Edge in Arcadia. The guy, who I assume owns the place, got up to talk for a few minutes. Once of the things that he talked about was custom insoles made by eSoles. Now, instead of me trying to explain it…here is a video!

Today I went to my regular doctor…got there at 8:05 for my 8:15 appointment…then she shows up at 9:05….nice….

Anyway, I had her write me a prescription for some physical therapy for my achilles and then another prescription for the insoles. I already called The Physical Edge to make my appointment, too put it lightly…I AM SUPER EXCITED about this! Did I mention that insurance will pay for it? Whoo-hoo!

Tonight is our brick workout, going to spend about 75 minutes on the bike doing various laps around the Rose Bowl, then I am going run a lap around the Bowl…all in all I am looking at a 110 minute workout! This is good, because I am training now for the Strawberry Fields Olympic Triathlon in July. So I need to be able to bike 24 miles, then run 6 miles after that. I still have a bit of a ways to go until I feel comfortable doing that, but it just will take some hard work. I a definitely feeling better on the bike, this weekend I am going to do the club ride out to San Dimas which will hopefully be about a 40 mile ride round trip. I also will be signing up for the Cool Breeze Century ride in Ventura, that one is in August. It will be my first century ride and I am excited because I think it will be fun and it is a club event so there will probably be a lot of PTC folks out there.

In other news, back in January I got an e-mail from Incycle saying that we get to get in on the team shoe deal. Basically, because I am a part of Pasadena Tr Club, we get to get some of the deals that the sponsored teams of incycle get. the shoes I picked out were the Bontrager RXL Road shoe-

They are some bitchin shoes (I got the white ones as pictured above). Retail they are $230 and I got them for $120…not a bad deal! Only catch….I STILL DON’T HAVE THEM. Coming up on 4 months now and they are lost in translation somewhere in cycling land and don’t want to make their way to their rightful owner (me).

Brandon called to tell me that they are on their way…but couldn’t say when…till then I revisit the website regularly just to look at them and dream of the day I get to touch them and wear them. Oh…and guess what….they have eSoles! HA!

So thats my story for today, tomorrow I will be back with stats from my ride tonight. Hope you are having a great Wednesday, 1 day closer to the weekend.

P.S. It’s my moms b-day this Sunday, so I am taking her to the spa for a massage…great ROI on this one…because I get a facial, she doesn’t complain all day and get to hang out at the spa…Happy Birthday Mom!
